Queensland in November! Jacarandas flowering everywhere, followed by flame trees …. beautiful!

I’m running late with the News this month, too many things keeping me away from the computer. Pups getting old enough to leave, Wills hurting his foot and the repercussions from that, bitches on heat and Siggy barking non stop for days….it’s been hectic!

Every month when I start a new post I collect a few photos from the past month and every time I’m amazed at the growth in the pups! These are the Gundee x Minmin mob progressing over three weeks.

The Jack x Vamp litter has left for their new homes, Valli was the only bitch and she’s a delight, such a  sensible pup(above).                    .

The other litter, Jack x Clover pups have been great to handle. A bit calmer than most, lovely pups. Two boys have gone already, Bluff to WA and Deal up to Rocky. This girl below will be staying, Double Down(Dee).

Wills got his foot stuck between the old wool shed battens in his run, I think, and chipped a tiny bit of bone off. His foot swelled up and was very painful making him put more weight on his rear end , with bad results! He’s on the mend now, but November wasn’t a happy time for the old boy. He was AI’d to Michael Croft’s nice bitch Keswick Charlie earlier and was so good we were going to collect him to freeze, but it hasn’t happened yet.

 

Sass is well in pup to Breezebend Brad/Spud via AI. She’s still jumping two six foot fences to get out of the run, something I’m trying to stop! And old Karrawarra Kelp surprised me last week by coming on heat and mating Jack, seemingly all in a few days! She’s pretty old so we’ll see what happens! It would be exciting to get a pup or two from the last litter Tony bred. He gave Kelp to Peter McCullough, who has generously lent her to me for a litter.                

I was lucky to avoid too much damage from the awful storms earlier in Nov. I had a few huge hailstones but they quickly got smaller as the storm moved on to trash Nobby and Clifton… a long blackout, but lucky compared to many.

So 2025 is drawing to a close. American trends seem to be taking us over these days, Christmas shopping is almost a thing of the past with Black Friday lasting for about a month of bargains from mid November! My mail lady is doing extra runs at the weekend to clear the stacks of parcels at the P.O. and the local store has a stack of mysterious unclaimed parcels that the carriers have left there!

Wishing you all the best for the festive season and enjoy a lovely time with family and friends! My two grand daughters are spending Christmas in Prague, so maybe I’ll have some nice snowy photos from them to cool me down in Queensland! And here’s a blast from the past…some old timers wishing you a good one!
